Solder Station Protection: Extensions
Desired modifications to the original circuit
I wanted to add some extra features to the timer. Because of them I had
to add some modifications to the circuit.
- I replaced the normally open (NO) by a normal closed (NC) button. This
type of button interrupts the current when you press it. I did this because
I found a nice looking button.
- I wanted a sound to be played when the timer elapsed. This will notify
me to press the start-button again if I still need my soldering iron.
- The original delay of 15 minutes was a little bit too short: I have
increased it to 30 minutes.
- I didn't need a STOP button so this button could be removed.
I have added all this extensions to the schematic diagram you can find
on the next page. I didn't implement this NC button on the schematics as
no one will probably need it.
